FANATICS: THE EXHIBIT

San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama, aka Wemby, was the biggest storyline of the 2023-24 NBA season. San Antonio Spurs fans were overjoyed when it became clear the he would become just the 7th unanimous Rookie of the Year in NBA history. We wanted to help all the fans in San Antonio celebrate this moment by honoring Wemby in the biggest way possible, by showing that the league’s legends, past and present, are also Wembanyama fans.

We created an exhibit of past Rookies of the Year, invited Wembanyama to tour it, and then surprised him with congratulatory messages from a few special fans. The likes of LeBron James, Shaq, Kevin Durant, and Allen Iverson all expressed their admiration for Wemby. But more importantly, they captured what fans around the world, and especially in his home-team town of San Antonio, were feeling about the phenom, and now, unanimous rookie of the year.
